This document presents Italian smart meter rollout applicability from the perspective of local small electricity distributors. Along with the European countries Italy was among the first countries implementing a smart metering system. The rollout process is almost successfully finished. Italy is starting now developing new tools, tariffs using the all-new available information. The following aspects are described in the text.
