This paper explores the forms and functions of the emotions expressed in some French and Italian TV broadcast interactions. The study is more precisely based on a comparative analysis of two TV interactive debates dealing with social-political issues and particularly relevant current affairs. The emotional manifestation, observed according to the speaker and his interactional role, is mainly studied from a linguistic point of view, through the analysis of lexical, syntactic, pragmatic and enunciative markers, etc.). Cultural differences of emotional discourse are observed by considering on the one hand the strategies used by hosts in inducing and expressing emotions, and on the other hand the resources employed by debaters (guests and citizens) at an expressive, enunciative and communicative level.
