Dal Trentino al mondo. Repertori linguistici e culturali nelle comunità di origine migratoria.

The work highlights the tension between conservation and innovation that runs through numerous migratory communities of Trentino origin. After an introductory paragraph that briefly illustrates the origins and destinations of Trentino emigration between the end of the nineteenth century and the second half of the twentieth century (§ 1), the dynamics of transformation of linguistic repertoires in two important Trentino communities in Brazil are highlighted, that of Nova Trento and that of Piracicaba (§ 2). In the following paragraph (§ 3) some outcomes of the linguistic contact on neo-Trentino (or Taliàn) in the speakers of the two communities are exemplified. The theme of the alternation between conservation and innovation is taken up again in the last paragraph (§ 4), where recurring cultural themes are presented in the activities proposed by the Trentino clubs and in the initiatives addressed by the association Trentini nel mondo to Trentino communities outside Italy.
