This work presents a novel methodology for the design of base stations antenna arrays for multi-user MIMO communications. The array has a simplified and modular architecture, composed by few sub-array tiles shapes, reducing the array control points. By combining a pre-coding technique for the setting of the excitations weights with an exhaustive search of exact tiling solutions, the communication channel capacity is maximized. The presented preliminary result shows that the optimized irregular tiling layout allows to reach higher capacity values with respect to a regular tiling configuration.

Abstract
This work presents a novel methodology for the design of base stations antenna arrays for multi-user MIMO communications. The array has a simplified and modular architecture, composed by few sub-array tiles shapes, reducing the array control points. By combining a pre-coding technique for the setting of the excitations weights with an exhaustive search of exact tiling solutions, the communication channel capacity is maximized. The presented preliminary result shows that the optimized irregular tiling layout allows to reach higher capacity values with respect to a regular tiling configuration.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
