Traduction et doublage du cinéma québécois en Italie: le cas de "La grande séduction" de Jean-François Pouliot

In this paper, we will first try to show how the translators responsible for the dubbing of the Quebec film La grande séduction by Jean-François Pouliot have rendered in Italian many of the specificities of spoken Quebecois. More specifically, we will try to understand the strategies they used for the translation of Quebecois’ sacres and cultural information units. We will then describe some transculturation processes used to allow for the target audience’s comprehension. We will refer to the notion of “transculturation” theorized by Fernando Ortiz, and according to whom the translation of a work from one language to another “necessarily implies the loss or uprooting of a previous culture”.
