Semantic annotations will play a crucial role in making the vision of the Semantic Web a reality. In this work, we propose a general domain-independent architecture for semantic markup adopting software design recovery techniques, and demonstrate its feasibility in a limited but realistic domain. The results of this experimentation are validated using three stage evaluation schema.
