This article clarifies the challenge posed by Brexit for post-Brexit European integration. The principal finding is that Brexit is apt to be less disruptive than initially supposed because the EU has the ability to respond constructively filling gaps in its institutional setup that reduces the system’s vulnerability to asymmetric shocks.
