We analyse the French, German, and Spanish translations of the novels Il giro di boa (Andrea Camilleri, 2003), Monte di dio (Erri de Luca, 2001), and La moto di Scanderbeg (Carmine Abate, 1999) which seem to resist translation because of their combination of standard Italian with diatopic varieties and foreign languages. The analysis focuses on different strategies pursued by the translators in order to recreate the linguistic hybridity of the source texts in the target text.
