The aim of this paper is to provide an analysis of communication in forensic situations. We will focus on the role played by style formulas in forensic practice, whose use seems functional to the progressive construction of a common argumentative ground, to which the parties cooperate in the complex dynamic of practical judgment. Style formulas are mostly used as rhetorical presentational means: their use is not neutral but deceiving for what they do not say.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to provide an analysis of communication in forensic situations. We will focus on the role played by style formulas in forensic practice, whose use seems functional to the progressive construction of a common argumentative ground, to which the parties cooperate in the complex dynamic of practical judgment. Style formulas are mostly used as rhetorical presentational means: their use is not neutral but deceiving for what they do not say.
