The synthesis of wideband planar arrays with fixed elements position and arbitrary upper power bounds on the sidelobes of the far field pattern is addressed in this work. An optimal strategy based on a convex programming (CP) procedure is proposed to define the set of excitations satisfying the power constraints, jointly maximizing the antenna operating bandwidth. Preliminary numerical results are given and discussed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

Abstract
