The antenna test is usually considered a different step compared to the antenna design. In this contribution a novel approach is proposed, in which antenna testing is part of an integrated product development process of the radiating system. Possible problems affecting the antennas are identified during the design. A set of bases are obtained for each cause of uncertainty or possible failure of the antenna. The union of such sets gives a dictionary of over-complete bases, from which a suitable subset able to represent the field radiated by the Antenna Under Test (AUT) is extracted using the Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) algorithm. This approach allows to optimize the measurement time in the antenna test procedure.

Abstract
The antenna test is usually considered a different step compared to the antenna design. In this contribution a novel approach is proposed, in which antenna testing is part of an integrated product development process of the radiating system. Possible problems affecting the antennas are identified during the design. A set of bases are obtained for each cause of uncertainty or possible failure of the antenna. The union of such sets gives a dictionary of over-complete bases, from which a suitable subset able to represent the field radiated by the Antenna Under Test (AUT) is extracted using the Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) algorithm. This approach allows to optimize the measurement time in the antenna test procedure.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
