The design of a dual-polarized antenna for 5G base station is addressed in this paper. In particular, the valuable advantage of multi-polarized antennas is recalled, thus leading the antenna design process to account for it. Therefore, in order to define useful solutions to the problem, optimization techniques are employed in the proposed methodology with custom defined cost function. A tradeoff antenna model performance is also analyzed in order to validate the presented approach.

Abstract
The design of a dual-polarized antenna for 5G base station is addressed in this paper. In particular, the valuable advantage of multi-polarized antennas is recalled, thus leading the antenna design process to account for it. Therefore, in order to define useful solutions to the problem, optimization techniques are employed in the proposed methodology with custom defined cost function. A tradeoff antenna model performance is also analyzed in order to validate the presented approach.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
