The aim of the essay is to analyze the role of the concept of Katechon in Carl Schmitt's International Theory. Starting from Schmitt's early writings to his final publications and some unpublished archival documents the essay analyzes all different meanings of Katechon and their contexts with a specific reference to their theological and philosophical background.
