How to learn to solve legal problems. This report focuses mainly on the learning assessment (which is different from the evaluation of teaching and from the assessment of the competence). First I explain some principles about learning assessment. Are listed, then, the different kind of knowledge that a lawyer must possess (knowledge, skills, habits). The introduction concludes with some considerations on interdisciplinarity. The second part of the report is devoted to problem solving in the legal field. I discuss the pedagogical benefits of problem solving and explain the different meanings that can take the expression ‘case studies’. The report concludes with a general comment on TECO-D in the legal field.
