HISTORICALKat: La documentazione catastale trentina d’impianto è Open Data

The (digital) availability of original historical cadastral maps, as well as related other historical maps and relevant historical documents, is increasingly requested for historical and cultural-heritage oriented researches. Such a cartographic heritage, representing the repository of the original maps from a technical point-of-view, is a valuable source to solve a number of land administration issues (e.g. boundary disputes). Furthermore, the digital archive represents the starting-point and the official repository for the revision, the updating and the accuracy improvements of the cadastral and cartographical database and of the official layers of Municipalities and Provincial boundaries. The Cadastre Service of the Autonomous Province of Trento (also in charge for the management of the official boundary lines), in partnership with Interplay Software S.r.l. and in collaboration with the University of Trento, has developed a web app (Windows OS) termed HISTORICALKat that allow the maintenance and updating (for surveyors) and the open-access and geovisualization (for the general public) of a number of cadastral related informations.
