This volume aims at providing an introduction to the transfer of immovable property in different European countries, in order to outline the different regulatory models adopted for dealing with legal certainty and lowering the costs involved in this complex type of transaction. After introducing the historical trends and the developed models in the regulation of the transfer and the publicity of real property, and analyzing their economic foundations and implications, the contributions included in this book are dedicated to the regulations of Austria, Greece, Belgium,Italy, England, Wales, Ireland and Finland.
