The narrative approach have been demonstrated as the best way to analyze the children’s internal working models of attachment during middle childhood. The book proposes the Italian translation and validation of the Attachment Story Completion Task, ASCT, a procedure created by Bretherton and Ridgeway on the assumption that story completions permit a classification of the four different attachment patterns. The procedure and the three main different coding systems used for the classification are presented, as well as their statistical reliability. Empirical applications of the ASCT with different typical and atypical participants are presented, concerning the relations with sibling, adopted children, post-divorced families, children having troubled behaviors inside pre-school.
