The imaging of three-dimensional scatterers is addressed by means of a new microwave inversion algorithm that combines an Inexact Newton (IN)-based deterministic reconstruction technique with a multi-focusing approach. This choice is motivated by the capability of multi-resolution techniques to reduce non-linearity issues arising in 3D imaging problems, thus enabling the effective exploitation of local search strategies for their solution. A set of preliminary results is presented to show advantages and drawbacks of the proposed imaging methodology, as well as to compare it with state-of-the art techniques formulated in the same framework.

Abstract
The imaging of three-dimensional scatterers is addressed by means of a new microwave inversion algorithm that combines an Inexact Newton (IN)-based deterministic reconstruction technique with a multi-focusing approach. This choice is motivated by the capability of multi-resolution techniques to reduce non-linearity issues arising in 3D imaging problems, thus enabling the effective exploitation of local search strategies for their solution. A set of preliminary results is presented to show advantages and drawbacks of the proposed imaging methodology, as well as to compare it with state-of-the art techniques formulated in the same framework.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
