The dissertation is about the sculpture in Padua from 1540 to 1620 ca., mainly focusing on the production of funerary monuments and portrait busts. Crucial is the connection between the sculptors, the Veneranda Arca di Sant'Antonio and the intellectuals related to the Studio or to the academies of the city. The stylistic development and peculiar forms are compared with those of the contemporary Venice.
