For over half a decade we have observed the ex- perimental introduction of Interactive Whiteboards in primary and secondary schools in the Trentino region, Italy. Working with teachers, we monitored several problems arising from the use of both com- mercial and low-cost, self-made interactive white- boards. A number of practical indications emerge from our research. Based on the experience we gath- ered, we have recently developed a general solution that aims at solving some of the issues we found.
