Social Movements (2nd edition)

The book synthesizes the literature on social movements and collective action from the point of view of four key analytic dimensions: structural foundations of collective action; cultural and identity processes; organizations and action repertoires; the impact of political and social contexts on forms and developments of collective action. Although most references are to conflicts based in the West, and to works by West-based authors, the book also covers material elaborated in reference to other socio-political settings.
