This article introduces a new label ‘Affective Ethnography’ and ground it within the debates known as post qualitative methodologies and within the turn to affect in practice theory. I theorize affective ethnography as a style of research practice that acknowledge that all elements – texts, actors, materialities, language, agencies – are already entangled in complex ways and they should be read in their intra-actions, through one another, as data in motion/data that moves. I discus three aspects related to the presence in doing fieldwork and the capacity to affect/being affected. The first is embodiment and embodied knowing. Doing fieldwork implies the capacity to resonate with, becoming-with, and to be capable of affective attunement. The second aspect relates to place as flow, and as process. The third relates to affect as the power of acting and therefore to the presence in the fieldwork in the capacity of ‘making do’, either intentionally or unintentionally.
