Drawing upon María Zambrano's essay "Charlot o el histrionismo", this paper aims to show how Limelight, Chaplin's final American film, manages to reveal what is most essential in human beings: personal vocation. The topic of the dream as a primary manifestation able to reveal the metaphysical structure of human life will also be investigated. Finally, the article aims to show how birth could offer a valid hermeneutic key to interpreting Zambranian essays.
