In this paper, we describe the artifacts and the practices that a group of elderly people use to plan future events and remembering information about future event at the proper time. The role of such artifacts in the construction of a narrative and emotional account of elderly life is discussed. A particular attention is given to the description of the values that mediate the use of time-scheduling artifacts. By taking into consideration the whole complexity of time management ecology, we finally suggest a number of design opportunities. © 2010 ACM.
