This paper presents an electrical model aimed at describing the behavior of an eco-friendly and low-cost capacitive pressure sensor to be used for Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications. Results obtained are fundamental to implement the proper readout system. Measures show clearly how the frequency and amplitude response of the sensors can be modeled as a function of the pressure. The model of a lumped-parameter electrical circuit has been proposed and validated through experiments.

Abstract

This paper presents an electrical model aimed at describing the behavior of an eco-friendly and low-cost capacitive pressure sensor to be used for Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications. Results obtained are fundamental to implement the proper readout system. Measures show clearly how the frequency and amplitude response of the sensors can be modeled as a function of the pressure. The model of a lumped-parameter electrical circuit has been proposed and validated through experiments.
