The work centers on the repression of international crimes, the creation of States and the principle of self-determination. Firstly, the impact of international criminal justice on the process of creation of States and entities willing to become States is analyzed; their attitude has repercussions on the strengthening or weakening of uncertain or undefined territorial situations. Furthermore, the position of States that criticize international criminal justice because it would have negative consequences on the principle of self-determination is also examined. In this regard, the article focuses on the trigger mechanisms of the International Criminal Court in Africa in order to understand how the relationship between international criminal justice and self-determination is shaped (or has been perceived) in that area.
