The paper examines Jan Assmann’s thesis about the “political theology”. Assmann does not provide a definition of political theology, but the nucleus of every political theology is in the nexus between religion, power and violence. It is similar to Peterson´s Erledigung of the political theology: the scope is the purification of the religion from the contamination with politics.
